What end-to-end encryption means
End-to-end encryption (E2EE) means your data is encrypted on your device with keys that only you hold. It travels and rests as unreadable ciphertext. Not us, not our cloud provider, and not an attacker who breaches our servers can read it.
Why it matters for passwords
Your password vault is the single most sensitive thing you'll ever store online. If it's protected by encryption that the vendor can undo, then the vendor — and anyone who compromises the vendor — is a single point of failure.
With looxpassword:
- Your vault is sealed on-device before it ever syncs.
- Sync moves only ciphertext between your Apple devices.
- Your recovery key is yours alone. We can't reset it, because we never had it.
